1. Start with freshly washed, detangled, wet hair and work the Black Castor Oil Curl Cream through it.

2. Take a small section β€” smaller than you would with a full-size brush.

3. Brush outward from the root with gentle tension and let the curls ribbon off the edge of the brush.

4. After brushing, gently clap the Styling Gel over your curls to lock the shape in.

5. Air-dry, hands off β€” touching curls mid-dry is where frizz sneaks in.

6. Once fully dry, gently scrunch to break the gel cast β€” crunchy turns soft and defined.

DefineBrush MINI

The original Define Brush was built for full, longer curls. Shorter curls don't have the length for it, finer curls don't have the weight, and little curly heads don't have the patience. The MINI keeps everything that makes the original work in a smaller pad with a lighter touch.

Same definition. Sized-down

Shorter Curls

Above-the-shoulder cuts, fringes, shags, and layers. Short hair follows the curve of your head, and so does the MINI's shorter pad β€” the bristles stay in contact right at the root, at the crown, and around your face. And short sections still get a full stroke, root to tip.

Little Curls

Sized for small heads, little ears, and short attention spans. The bristles glide without catching or pulling, so wash-day and school mornings stop being a fight. It fits little hands too β€” perfect for kids who want to do their own curls.

Finer Curls

Fine curls live and die by section size. The MINI's smaller head makes it easy to work fine hair in more, smaller sections β€” and every section becomes its own curl clump. More clumps means more volume, which is exactly the fullness fine hair is after.

3 Reasons Why

Straight after the bath, work a little of the Curl Cream through their hair and brush in small sections with gentle passes from the root. Most heads are done before the patience runs out β€” and the MINI fits their hands if they want a turn.

After the shower, work our Black Castor Oil Curl Cream through wet, detangled hair. Brush outward from the root, section by section, and let the curls ribbon off the edge. Clap the Styling Gel on, hands off while it dries, then scrunch out the cast. That's the whole routine. That's it.

Same defining edges, same bristles β€” just a smaller pad and handle. Good for getting in close to the roots and adding extra definition. Choose the MINI for above-the-shoulder cuts, finer curls, and kids. Choose the original for longer, thicker, denser curls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, like the original, it works across waves, curls, and coils (2A–4C). The MINI is about hair length and density, not curl pattern: if your curls are shorter or finer, it's the better fit.

Any age with enough curl to define, from toddlers through teens. Always brush gently on little ones.

Wet, always. Curls are set by water. Brushing them dry pulls them apart into frizz. Use the MINI on freshly washed hair with our Curl Cream worked through. Between washes, don't brush dry: mist the hair damp first, then re-define with a little Curl Cream.

The MINI is a defining brush, not a detangling brush. Work knots out first with fingers, Original Define Brush or a wide-tooth comb in the shower, with conditioner in, is easiest. Then use the MINI to define. It glides best through tangle-free hair.

Same defining edges, same bristle design; just a smaller pad and handle. Choose the Mini for above-the-shoulder cuts, finer curls, and kids. Choose the original for longer, thicker, denser curls.

The original. The MINI's smaller pad means more passes on long, dense hair β€” the full-size brush will get you there faster.
